God Is Everywhere You Are

In the evenings, my wife Christy and I have been reading together through A Shelter In the Time of Storm. This is a collection of 52 refreshing meditations on God and trouble from Psalm 27. Listen to these encouraging words on why we can rest surely knowing God is wherever we are:
“It’s fundamentally impossible to be in a situation, location, or relationship where he is not present. It’s impossible for anything to exist outside of the sphere of his control. It’s impossible for anything or anyone to be more powerful than him. It’s impossible for anything or anyone to be wiser than him. It’s impossible for what he desires and has chosen and planned not to come to be. He rules every microbe of physical and spiritual creation. . .God exists and he is your Father. He will never leave your side.”
A Shelter In a Time of Storm by Paul David Tripp is a worthy read. And a vivid reminder of why theology matters. Knowing truth about God, such as the doctrines of God’s omnipresence and sovereignty described here, is an anchor for your soul.
