Grace Abounding

The gospel’s progress in the world depends on God’s sovereign grace. Yet He has appointed us as his messengers; and missionaries–cross-cultural workers bearing the gospel–are on the front lines of the gospel’s advance. We have a vital role in praying regularly and faithfully for the Spirit to work mightily through missionaries we know and whom our church supports. Samuel Zwemer, a creative missiologist who brought the good news to lands controlled by Islam perceptively said, “The history of missions is the history of answered prayer.”

So, how should you and I be praying for missionaries? That’s the question we’ll answer this Sunday at Grace Church of Alexandria. Matt Bjerk, missionary to Croatia and a friend of mine, will be presenting their ministry and preaching on this question. To prepare, take a few minutes to read through the following Scripture passages to be ready to receive the Word from Matt.
